Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
This policy explains what information The Citizenship Professors LLC collects when you visit thecitizenshipprofessors.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We have written it in plain English on purpose — many of our readers are learning English, and a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody.
Who we are
The Citizenship Professors LLC is a California limited liability company. We publish study materials for the U.S. naturalization civics test. We are an independent educational publisher and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or any government agency.
You can reach us any time at yourcitizenshipprofessor@gmail.com.
What we collect
Your email address — only if you give it to us
Two places on this site ask for your email: the newsletter signup, and the optional signup at the end of the placement quiz. If you enter your email, we store it so we can send you lessons, study tips, and news about new editions. We also record which of the two forms you used, so we know which part of the site is helping people.
If you never enter your email, we never have it.
Basic visitor information — automatically
Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to count visitors and see which pages people read. This tells us things like how many people visited this week, which country or state they were in, whether they used a phone or a computer, and which buttons they clicked.
It does not tell us your name, your address, or who you are. We cannot identify you from this information.
What we never collect
We do not ask for and do not want your immigration status, your case number, your A-number, your date of birth, your Social Security number, or any government identification. Please do not send these to us. If you email us something like this by accident, we will delete it.
Cookies
Google Analytics places a small file called a cookie in your browser so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and this website will still work normally.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Who else sees your information
We use a small number of outside companies to run this website. Each one only receives what it needs:
- MailerLite — stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Google Analytics — counts visitors. Receives no email addresses.
- Netlify — the company that hosts this website.
- Amazon — our books are sold there. When you click a book link you leave this site, and Amazon's own privacy policy applies from that point.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We will share it only if a law or a court order requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Visitor analytics are kept for up to 14 months and are not linked to your identity.
Your choices and your rights
You are always in control of your information:
- Unsubscribe — every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and we stop.
- Ask us what we have — email us and we will tell you.
- Ask us to delete it — email us and we will delete it, and confirm when it is done.
- Turn off analytics — you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on, and we will not count your visits.
California residents have additional rights under California law, including the right to know what personal information a business has collected and the right to request its deletion. You do not have to be a California resident to ask us — we handle every request the same way. Asking costs you nothing and we will never treat you differently for asking.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, so this website does not currently respond to those signals. We do not track you across other websites regardless.
Children
This website is meant for adults preparing for the naturalization test. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will say so in an email to our subscribers.
